Visitors and Vacation

We have had a busy month so far. It started out with my parents visiting for a few days. Dad hadn't seen the WWII Memorial and had requested to see that. So we had a picnic on the National Mall and then saw several of the monuments. These rocks are a small section of the FDR Memorial.
Mom, Dad and the kids by the Reflection Pool.

We also went to the Udvar-Hazy Air & Space Museum. For those of you who don't know about this, it is part of the Smithsonian Institute. They built a second museum close to Dulles Airport. It is very different from the original museum on the Mall, but still fun to see. Dad even treated us to the IMAX theater there. The kids really liked the space section of the museum,
especially the space shuttle. They all took turns being "pilots" of a Cessna.

Next, we had Blue Mountain Girl and her family here for a day on their way to visit family. We were so excited that they included us in their plans. Sweet Pea is growing and the boys all had fun playing together. We went to our local pool, but it ended up being closed. The kids still had fun in the baby pool for a while. Unfortunately, I realized that I didn't take any pictures during their short visit. If Blue Mountain Girl sends me a few, I will try to post them.

Finally, Ghost's parents and brother came for a visit. We celebrated Ghost's mom's birthday. Then, the nine of us traveled to Ocean City, MD for a few days. All the kids had lots of fun on the beach. All boys have to show their muscles at the beach!!BluePony had fun boogie boarding, but not swallowing that salt water! CutiePie was happy in her huge sandbox.
She even chose to lay on the sand instead of her towel. Elefly tried boogie boarding, too.
She had fun until the water took her under. What fun would the beach be without a great sand castle?
The kids all love playing with their uncle. Can you tell he's related to Ghost?

CutiePie got lots of shoulder rides.
Her little legs got tired walking through all that sand! They had these fun play sets on the beach. BluePony was a little nervous on the airplane!

We had some fun off the beach, too. The kids got to try go-karts.Little kids and Big kids! The boardwalk was fun to shop, play, and people watch. It find all the street performers interesting. Some were pretty good, others not so good.
My guys hangin' out on the boardwalk.
Now we are home and life is back to normal for our last week before we start school. I hope all our guests had a good time at our home, and we hope more of you, our friends and family, will visit us sometime!
