Catching Up - Birthdays

I am not doing so well with my blog lately. It seems like every time I sit down to start a new post I am interrupted. Now, all the kids are in bed and Ghost is out of the house so hopefully I can get caught up.

We have a lot of family birthdays in the fall. Mine happens to fall first. Here is a rare picture - it actually has me in it. The kids helped Ghost bake me a delicious cake and they were so excited to celebrate with me. I am definitely blessed.

Just a few weeks after my birthday are BluePony and Spidey's birthdays. We asked them what they would like to do for their birthday and they wanted to go see their Wisconsin friends. So we made some calls and we were off to Wisconsin for a long weekend. Our friends were great hosts and we are thankful they put up with us for a few days. Eight kids is a lot to put in one house! Our Wonderful Hosts

The kids all having fun with the dads.

We had fun on a hike. We almost got everyone to look at the camera!Fifteen kids (if you were counting) We had a fun get together with our "camping" friends. We miss all of you!!

We celebrated an extra birthday when the "camping crew" surprised Mrs. O for a very special birthday.

It was a wonderful weekend and some good medicine for our family. We got home safely and the next weekend Ghost's parents and grandparents came to visit. We asked what they would like to see and below is a picture. (If you don't know where we went, check your American History!)

Mount Vernon - George Washington's home

The back of Mount Vernon which overlooks the Potomac River.

We learned so many fascinating things while we were there. I could have taken more time to read and look through the museum. My favorite part was meeting Martha Washington. She spoke as if it was 1781 and would answer any question you had. She even let us take a picture with her.

Last, but definitely not least, we celebrated Spidey's birthday. If you can't tell, he had a treasure chest cake and was thrilled with it.

  1. So maybe it's the pregnancy, but seeing these pictures brought me to tears. I miss you and your family so much!
