Hunting

I am not hunting for lions, tigers, or bears (oh my!) . . . but houses. Not quite as exciting, huh? It is rather exhausting. Today we started with a packet of 26 houses. I think we pulled out three that didn't fit for our family, but managed to make it through the rest. There were lots of great houses, but we haven't found THE house for us yet.

It is really hard relocating to a far off place. We moved once, three years ago. Now we are off again to a new place. I am really sad about leaving my friends, church family, and familiar surroundings, when it has finally become my home.

I have been very anxious over the whole relocation process, but while we were driving today, I recalled a favorite Bible verse. Phil. 4:6-7 reads, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." This passage says it all. I have been praying - TONS! God is finally giving me peace that it will be alright. He is in control and will take care of us as part of his flock. He is preparing a new home for us and will find a way for us to serve Him here. We have been blessed by our obedience so far, and I believe He will continue to do so.

Tomorrow we will be off again to more cities and houses. My head will surely be jumbled in confusion as all the snapshots of houses churn around inside. But, I can go with confidence, peace, and enjoy being a little nosey!

  1. I haven't visited your site in a while - you've added so much! I'm still waiting to hear from my friend in VA - it might be too late to help. Keep praying - you will know the right house when you see it!
